 French independent label Le Chant du Monde celebrate the memory of some of the most popular artists in history.
 Cinema buffs around the world have in mind the singular voice of this essential figure of French
cinema. ‘Children of Paradise’, ‘Hotel du Nord’, ‘The Evening Visitors’ are among many movies that
have been successful thanks to its magnetic presence. Léonie Marie Julie Bathiat (15 May 1898
- 23 July 1992), known professionally as Arletty, was also a very expressive singer who left us,
unfortunately, too few recordings.
 This release compiles fourteen of her best songs alongside Arletty reciting texts extracting from
‘Mort à Crédit’, a famous French novel by Louis-Ferdinand Céline.
