Overview:
My Darling Clementine present the third and final instalment of their 'Country Darkness' trilogy. Like its predecessors, Vol 3 is a four-track EP featuring songs from the Elvis Costello catalogue re-interpreted for duet, with Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish once again collaborating with Costello’s longtime keyboard-player and right-hand man, the mercurial Steve Nieve. Two of the songs, “Indoor Fireworks” and “I’ll Wear It Proudly” come from the T. Bone Burnett produced King of America while “The Crooked Line” is a Costello / Burnett co-write. The set is completed with “Why Can't A Man Stand Alone” the original version appearing on All This Useless Beauty, Costellos’ last ever album with The Attractions. The songs were pre-produced at Nieve’s home in France before recording transferred to Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield.
