Paus Clarão Limited Vinyl LP
Overview:
· ‘Clarão’ is the new album by Paus, released by El Segell del Primavera after the 7” ‘Bandeira Branca’, a record that shows the future of the band.
· ‘Clarão’ is their best effort to date, a record that finds
four friends who grew up on the hardcore / punk scene but want people to dance. It’s as complex as it is powerful; full of percussion and rage.
· Formed in 2009 in Lisbon, the Portuguese band Paus break all moulds: a Siamese drum that acts as the motor of the band, a bass that doesn’t sound like a bass, a guitar and an arsenal of keyboards that create the multiple textures of their sound, which moves between experimental and pop with tropical influences, psychedelia and hints of the hardcore past of some of its members.
· Their live shows are one of Paus’ strengths and the key to their success at the best festivals in their country, opening the door for them to Primavera Sound festival two years running, as well as opening for bands of the calibre of Health, Radiohead and Caribou.
· Before signing to El Segell del Primavera the quartet
had released an EP on Enchufada (Buraka Som Sistema’s label) in 2010, and a debut album on Valentim de Carvalho in 2011, which took them to Number 3 in the Portuguese charts.
