Faces A Nod Is As Good As A Wink..Limited 180gram Vinyl LP.
Overview
For their 1971 breakthrough album, A Nod Is As Good As A Wink...To A Blind Horse, the Faces ditched the "Small," in favor of a larger sound that would take them all the way to No. 6 on Billboard's pop album chart and deliver "Stay With Me," their biggest hit ever. Mastered from the original analog tapes, this 180-gram vinyl reissue of this legendary album captures all the raucous fun in every groove and further proves the wisdom of journalist Dave Marsh's assessment in his 1971 review in Cream: "A NOD IS AS GOOD AS A WINK passes the Faces on the first test of a great rock and roll band. As they rock on by, they do leave something behind them." They may have passed that first test, but the Faces would soon be challenged by singer Rod Stewart's emergence as a powerful solo artist. They would dissolve in 1974, splitting permanently when guitarist Ronnie Wood secured a place in the more commercially prominent Rolling Stones and drummer Kenny Jones took up Keith Moon's spot behind The Who's drum kit.
